Former JAL President, Mr Isao Kaneko
died of heart failure aged 75 on 18 July. Joined JAL in 1960 after graduating in law from University of Tokyo, eventually becoming company President in 1998. Oversaw business merger with Japan Air Systems (JAS) in 2002, and became CEO of group in 2004 before retiring in 2005
