East Japan Railway Culture Foundation

about us
East Japan Railway Company (JR East) was established in April 1987 following the privatization of Japanese National Railways. In line with its social mission to aim for the rehabilitation and revitalization of railways, JR East established EJRCF in March 1992 to continuously make social contributions through railway culture. Since its inception, EJRCF has carried out a widerange of projects including art and culture activities focusing on Tokyo Station Gallery and Tokyo Ekicon, research assistance to transport researchers, and the training of railway personnel from Asian countries. It significantly expanded its projects by taking on the restoration of the old Shimbashi Station in 2003 and the construction of the Railway Museum in 2007 and is working to make even better social contributions. EJRCF became a public interest incorporated foundation in April 2010, in accordance with the new public interest corporation system. We are committed to being such a corporation with high aspirations and a strong sense of public spirit.
