Modern Painting of Mongolia It's Origin up to Today 2002/07/20 - 2002/09/08 The Mongol people's nomadic lifestyle has fostered a unique and distinctive aesthetic sense and view of the natural world. This exhibition, held to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Mongolia, includes works of art that embody these traditional facets of Mongol culture as well as pieces demonstrating some of the new trends that have emerged since the introduction of democratic government in 1992. The first-ever exhibition to offer a chronological perspective on the history of modern Mongol painting, it is divided into six sections giving an overview of the origins and evolution of modern pictorial art in Mongolia through a number of representative works.
