2001/07/11 - 2001/08/12

An exhibition of prints by the Belgian artist James Ensor (1860-1949) who is held in high esteem as a forerunner of expressionism and surrealism, two of the 20th century's most important artistic movements. His minutely worked prints bear comparison with finished oil paintings and are drawn with an ironic sense of mortality and the hidden implications of human relationships. This exhibition will include about 160 of Ensor's prints, which offer a profound insight into the human condition.

Artist: James Ensor
