The display will present a visual account of Ku-kai's life and work, centered around a series of screen-paintings for an annex to the Kongobuji Temple on Mount Koya. Commissioned from the artist Moriya Tadashi who has just completed them after some three years' work, the paintings commemorate the memorial service held in 1984 at the Mount Koya to mark the 1150th anniversary of his death.
