150th Anniversary Exhibition A French Academic Painter Who Loved Japonisme

Through his teaching of such famous Meiji-Era (1868-1912) masters as Seiki Kuroda and Keiichiro Kume, the academic painter RaphayáßCollin (1850-1916), who was active in France during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, played a highly influential role in the history of modern Japanese painting. This exhibition will feature about 100 works, including not only sixty of Collin's oil paintings but also drawings, livres d'artiste and items from his personal collection of Japanese art.
