MICHISEI KOHNO who depicted Taisho Realism 1998/12/12 - 1999/01/17 Michisei Kohno (1895-1950) was active in such artistic groups as Sodo-sha, Shirakaba, Shunyokai and Kokuga-kai in a career that centered mostly on the Taisho period (1912-1926). He left a large imprint on modern Western-style painting in Japan. This exhibit encompasses his life from the early days in Nagano to his later years and includes about 50 oil paintings, 25 drawings, 30 illustrations, along with etchings and other works.
