Scenes of Japan in the Late Nineteenth Century

The Japanese ukiyoe saw its last flowering in the late 19th century. This exhibit features approximately 200 unique works depicting the changes in politics, customs, and culture that occurred during this tumultuous period. Among the artists are Gountei Sadahide, Utagawa Hiroshige III, Yoshu Chikanobu, and Inoue Yasuji.
