Shandong Province in northeastern China is known as the ancient birthplace of Chinese civilization and played a central role in Chinese history. This exhibition presented Chinese calligraphy on bamboo slips and clay seals from the Han Dynasty, rubbings of carved calligraphy and monuments from the Han and Northern Wei Dynasties, as well as an impressive display of the massed ranks of wooden Imperial figurines from a Ming Dynasty tomb.
