YAOJI HASHIMOTO & HANA HASHIMOTO: Talk with Nature and Plants 1996/06/01 - 1996/07/03 Tossed by the turbulent 1920s and the post-World War II era, Yaoji Hashimoto and his wife, Hana developed their own unique style of painting. Yaoji pioneered his own innovative style by painting laborers and the war, while in his later years he painted nature, festivals and fishermen's villages of the Tohoku area. Hana was close to nature throughout her life and was active as a pioneer female painter in Japan. This show looked back at their world through 101 of their works. Artists: Yaoji Hashimoto / Hana Hashimoto |
