KINEO KUWABARA 1995/11/03 - 1996/01/15 Kineo Kuwabara is a unique photographer born in Shitaya, Tokyo. He began photographing Tokyo, after it was leveled by the Great Kanto Earthquake and continued as it transformed itself into an ultramodern city like a phoenix. For this exhibition, Kuwabara's photographs were selected under the supervision of photographer Tsuneyoshi Araki. Previously unpublished works portrayed different periods, including Tokyo in the good old days, from 1934 when it began to be affected by the war, through the 1940s, and the late Showa era.
