This exhibition presented the great variety of artists in France, from Corot and Courbet, who are credited with paving the way to the French Impressionists and the Barbizon School, to the post-Impressionists attempting their own new and unique expressions, More than 80 paintings from the Manchester City Art Galleries and other British and Irish art museums were shown.
