Eigetsu Kitazawa was born in Kyoto and studied under Shoen and Bakusen, masters of Japanese style painting. She became a member of the Nihon-Bijutsuin in 1941 at the age of 34. She created delicate and refined art featuring historical figures, and was active in women's art movements until her death in 1990.
